I drive a lot right around sunrise and sunset. I like to do more of my driving while its light so i use this app to try to optimize the daylight. It would be nice if there was AM and PM display options-- that would give it 4 stars from me. The ability to show the moon phases would give it another star from me.

I wanted the app because I like to look at the moon with my telescope and always wondered when it rose. But I got more than I expected, it tells me where it rises and where its at in the sky! I love this app! 5 Stars!!!

I down loaded this application mainly for the moon set times. It works great for this need. Would like to see a graphical representation of the moon phase on the same page as the moon rise and set times. Currently you need to go to a different area to get that information (in text form).

Okay, but it needs improvement.

This App is good. It would be great if it had visual representations of the moon phase, rather than having to go to a separate page and read the name of the phase. Perhaps show phase on the face of sundial rather than a full moon all of the time?

The ideal app would have 1) sunrise / sunset, 2) moon rise / moon set, 3) moon phase, 4) sun/moon compass, and 5) graphic world time of day (daylight / dark). This app has all except # 5. However, I just downloaded v 1.2 to an ipod touch with v3.0 software installed and the "new" moon phase graphic shown on the advertisement is not part of the software despite indicating it is present in S&M 1.2. Also, I agree, entering a zip code should be available for setting location. Otherwise a good value.

Just needed something to give me accurate sunset times by region and this works great.

Nice look but does not save lat. and long. info and I am at a location where autolocate is not available so I had to enter that data manually evertime I wanted to use it. Too much of a drag... I lost my $0.99.

I mostly want to know when it will get dark. It would be nice to add the civil twilight. Also the interface could look a little nicer. Replace the sunrise/set photos with icons. Add a nice background, get rid of the display boxes around the the times - they look like a place to input text.

Program crashes with every button tap. Useless.

No longer works. I paid for the app and now with the new OS, none of the functions work. What a waste.

Worked fine until change to OS4; now it crashes with any button press. Looking forward to an update. Update: v1.7 no longer crashes, but location doesnt work right. Doesnt open saved location, and recalled location (Chicago) has wrong time zone (no DST).

Only problem now is that on the Settings->Lat/Long screen a blackboxed word "Autolocate" sticks out of the screen; clearly a little bug. Old old review: Does not work with iOS 4. Beautiful layout - very easy to read. Another comment here said you cant save manually entered locations but you can. You just need to turn off the auto-locate at startup. I like how the phases of the moon animate for different days. All of the iOS4 issues seem to be fixed! Nice addition of the animation of sun and moon position and elevation throughout the day.

A great little app that I use all the time. On my 3GS running the latest OS, theres an annoying little bug when the "autolocate on startup" option is on. It seems to find the right location, but its always 3 hours off in the time zone. A work-around is to go to the map settings and click the "find where I am" button, then turn off the autolocate on startup option. But it would be nice to have this bug fixed.

this rev is exactly what I needed. This app has reached the top. There is no way to improve it from here. I photograph sunrise/sunsets, moonrise/moonsets and used to have to fake out the app by setting the ipod time and date to the time of the event I was interested in to get an actual compass direction for where on the horizon things are going to happen. Not anymore! You can set your location in maps to exactly where you are and with the new rev know exactly where on the horizon the rise/set.. is going to occur. If you are into photography this is EXACTLY what you need for this type of landscape photos. Fantastic job in providing this update. There arent enough stars to actually rate it.. The only thing to improve on its usefulness to me is for apple to finally get a gps in the ipod touch so I can pinpoint my location exactly.. but that ball is in apples court! thanx for a great update.. hallmark

Both my son and I are into photography and since we got this app we have become sunset photo buffs. Knowing the exact time of the sunset makes it so easy. This summer we travelled from Oregon to the mid west where the sunsets were spectacular and right on time as shown in this app. Very cool that the program could use the built in GPS and auto correct for our new location. Anyone who loves to photograph the great outdoors will love this app.

Has all the info, but have to look it up each time by hand, when the city is not in the list. Why cant we save a list of perhaps 5-7 locations frequently used?Can only save last location inputted. A pain when planning a trip to photograph in western USA, as most areas are not listed, as there are no cities nearby. So one has to drag the pin from place to place, time and again, across multiple states, as there is no where we can save a list of areas, such as Jackson Wyo, Helendale Ca etc.

Excellent app. I love the moon especially full moons. I also have painted moonscapes with oil paints and this app. Lets me know exactly what time the moon rises or sets or for that matter where it is in the sky at any time of any day. I just use the map and drag the pin to my location to get sun and moon info. ~tc
